Legendary Marketer is Closing: Why HBA is the Best Transition for Displaced Affiliates (2026)

by Becca | 21 Feb 2026 | Affiliate Programs

If you’ve spent more than five minutes scrolling through TikTok or YouTube looking for a "side hustle," you’ve seen the results: people holding up checks for $1,000 or $5,000, claiming they made it "with just one sale."

Usually, that leads you to Legendary Marketer. Or at least it did. Now Legendary Marketer is closing. This is leaving a lot of people frustrated and confused. It's definitely a sad time.

A couple of quick helpful tips if you were in Legendary Marketer:

  1. Download & save your materials - I know that doesn't make it better, but at least hang on to it in case it can help you in the future. And at least feel like you can retain some of what you spent that money on.
  2. Let me know if you need help - You might need to change your landing pages or website. I'll help as much as I can without charging you much, if anything. I hate this situation for you, so want to help if I can.

I won't go into the reasons that I think Legendary Marketer closed its doors, but I will still leave the comparison below in case you find that HBA might be a good and better home for you!

The "Hidden" Costs: Barrier to Entry & Risk Level

In the home business world, there are two types of pricing: The Sticker Price and The "Survival" Price. To build a fortress that actually lasts, you need to know which one you’re really paying.

Legendary Marketer: The $7 "Low-Ticket" Funnel

Legendary Marketer is famous for its $7 "15-Day Business Builder Challenge." It feels like a steal—until you’re three days in.

  • The "Business Advisor" Call: This is the first hidden cost. You’re assigned an "advisor" who is essentially a high-pressure salesperson. Their goal is to get you on the phone and convince you that if you’re serious about success, you need the Business Blueprints.
  • The $2,500 Milestone: Those Blueprints usually cost around $2,500. While the education is decent, the "hidden" part is the psychological pressure: many people feel they must buy them just to be "qualified" to earn the high-ticket commissions they were promised.
  • The "Tool Tax": LM doesn't include a website builder. Most students are pushed toward ClickFunnels ($97–$297/mo) and expensive autoresponders. Before you’ve made a single dime, you could be $3,000 in the hole with a $300/mo overhead.

The HBA: The "What You See is What You Get" Model

The Home Business Academy takes a completely different approach. There are no "advisors" waiting to upsell you on a phone call.

  • The $10-$35 Entry: You can start with the Let's Goal App for $10, the HBA Funnel Builder for $25/mo, or the full Starter Pack for $35. That’s it.
  • Built-in Tools: Unlike LM, the HBA is the tool. Your $25/mo covers your funnel builder, your hosting, and your training. You don’t need to go out and buy a separate $100/mo ClickFunnels subscription just to get your links online.
  • The "No-Pressure" Guarantee: You get 80% commissions on every product from day one. You don't have to "buy the next level" up front. If someone buys a premium product through your link and you don't have it yet, they let you know so you can upgrade to still earn that commission. And at 80% commissions, it's a no brainer!

The Verdict:

Legendary Marketer is built on a "Value Ladder" where you are the customer being climbed. The HBA is built on a "Level Field" where the tools you use to build your business are the same ones that pay your bills.

If you have $5,000 in the bank and love high-stakes sales, LM might be your speed. But if you’re a Scrappy Entrepreneur who wants to be in profit by your second sale without a "Business Advisor" breathing down your neck, the HBA is the clear survival move.

The Math Comparison: The Sprint vs. The Marathon

In the home business world, people often get blinded by "High-Ticket Hype." They see a $1,000 commission and think, "I only need three of those to change my life!" But they forget to calculate the cost, the effort, and the time required to get there.

Let’s look at what it actually takes to hit a "Full-Time" goal of $3,000 per month in both programs.

Legendary Marketer: The High-Ticket Sprint

To make $3,000/month with Legendary, you are typically chasing "one-and-done" sales.

  • The Commissions: You might make $20 on a small tool, but you're really aiming for that $1,000 Blueprint commission.
  • The Math: You need 3 high-ticket sales every single month.
  • The "Hidden" Reality: To get 3 people to drop $2,500, you usually need to drive thousands of visitors to your links and hope the "Business Advisors" close the deal for you. If you don't make those 3 sales next month? You start back at $0. This is a treadmill, not a fortress.

The HBA: The Residual Marathon

The HBA focuses on Residual Income. Because the tools are essential (people need their websites to stay online), they keep paying every month.

  • The Commissions: You earn $128 per month for every customer who is "all-in" (Funnel Builder + Premium + Let's Goal).
  • The Math: You need 24 "all-in" referrals to hit $3,072/month.
  • The "Fortress" Reality: Once you have those 24 people, they stay on the books. If you don't make a single sale next month, you still make roughly $3,000. This is how you build true freedom—by layering your income rather than constantly hunting for the next big score.

The "Profit at 2" Rule

This is where the HBA truly wins the award.

  • At Legendary: If you spent $2,500 on Blueprints and $150 on software, you are -$2,650 in the hole on Day 1. You need several high-ticket sales just to break even.
  • At HBA: Your total overhead is about $160 (if you're all-in). Because of the 80% commission, you only need 2 referrals to cover your own costs.

The Verdict:

In a survival situation, you want to get into "The Green" as fast as possible. With the HBA, you are in profit by your second referral. With Legendary, you could be chasing your "Break-Even Point" for six months or more.

Becca’s Pro Tip: Remember: Residual Income is the "Passive Income" everyone actually wants. High-ticket is just a high-pressure sales job with a fancy name. Residual income is a digital asset that pays you while you're out hiking or even sleeping.

Here's a chart to break it all down:

AttributeHome Business Academy (HBA)Legendary Marketer (LM)
Barrier to EntryUltra-Low: Start for $25-$35. No gatekeepers.Moderate/High: $7 entry leads to $2,500+ "Blueprints." Requires application.
Realistic Commission80% flat rate. You keep $20 of every $25.10-60% variable. Often requires a $30/mo "Pro" fee to get higher rates.
Risk LevelMinimal. Low monthly cost, 3-day refund.High. Heavy pressure to buy $2,500+ upsells to "qualify" for big commissions.
Trust / IntegrityElite. Founders haven't changed the plan in 10 years. People-first.Questionable. Known for "ego-driven" marketing and high-pressure sales calls.
Level of DifficultySimple. Focused on "2 referrals = profit."Complex. Steep value ladder and high-ticket sales skills required.
Quick to ProfitVery Fast. Profit on your 2nd referral.Slow. Need high-ticket sales to cover the initial "Blueprint" investment.
Product ValuePractical Tools. Funnel builder, A.I. tools, and traffic training.Education Heavy. Blueprints and coaching (often feels like "meta-marketing").
Product MarginHigh (for you). 80% of revenue goes to the affiliate.Lower (for you). Large chunks of high-ticket sales are kept by the company.
Tracking / CookiesHard-coded / Lifetime. Once a customer is yours, they stay yours.90-Day / Last-Click. You can lose a customer to a bigger affiliate at the last second.
Marketing MaterialsTurnkey. Funnels, emails, and live help included.Sleek but Siloed. Great funnels, but often requires using ClickFunnels.
SupportDirect. Founders are on live calls 5 days/week.Corporate. Support tickets and "Business Advisors" (who are often salespeople).
Community"Sunshine in a cup." Supportive, non-competitive, and family-like.Competitive. High-ticket "Diamond" ranks can lead to a hierarchy-heavy vibe.

Red Flags: Why Your "Land" Might Not Be Safe

When you build an affiliate business, you are essentially a tenant on someone else’s land. If the landlord changes the locks, you lose your home. So you want to make sure that in this business, you're on the best land available!

Here are the three major "Red Flags" currently waving over Legendary Marketer that you won't find at the HBA.

Red Flag #1: The "90-Day Expiration" vs. Hard-Coded Tracking

This is the single biggest technical risk for your income.

  • Legendary Marketer uses a 90-day cookie system with "last-click" attribution.
    • The Risk: You could spend months educating a lead, only for them to see a flashy ad from a "Mega-Influencer" on Day 89. If they click that new link, your commission vanishes. You did the work; the influencer got the paycheck.
  • HBA uses Hard-Coded / Lifetime Tracking.
    • The Survival Move: Once someone clicks your link and joins the HBA, they are yours for life. If they upgrade to a premium product three years from now, you still get the commission. Your work is never "stolen" by a cookie expiration.

Red Flag #2: The "Business Advisor" Gatekeeper

In LM, you aren't the only one talking to your leads.

  • The Trap: When your lead enters the $7 funnel, they are funneled to a "Business Advisor."
  • The Reality: These advisors are professional high-ticket salespeople. While they help "close" the $2,500 blueprints, they also act as a filter between you and your customer. If the company decides to change how those advisors work (or how much of the "cut" they take), your income is at the mercy of a corporate decision you can't control.

Red Flag #3: Regulatory Heat & "Ego-Driven" Marketing

In 2026, the FTC has intensified its focus on "Business Opportunity" (Biz-Opp) scams, specifically targeting high-ticket programs that promise "guaranteed income" or use deceptive "income claims."

  • LM's Vulnerability: Because LM relies on flashy "income claims" and a steep value ladder ($2,500+ upsells), it is a constant target for regulatory scrutiny. We've seen similar giants fall overnight when the FTC steps in.
  • HBA’s "People-First" Shield: The HBA doesn't sell a "get rich" dream; it sells tools (a funnel builder) and community. Because they lead with a product people actually use for any business, they are much more resilient to the "Biz-Opp" crackdowns that are currently shaking the high-ticket industry.

My Verdict:

In a survival situation, you never build your shelter in a valley that's prone to flash floods. Legendary Marketer is that valley. Between the cookie expirations and the regulatory pressure, your income is never truly yours.

The HBA is the high ground. It’s a stable, product-focused community that protects you and ensures that if you do the work today, you’ll still be getting paid for it in 2030.

Support & Community: "Sunshine in a Cup" vs. Corporate Gatekeepers

When you’re stuck on a technical problem at 2:00 AM, or you’re feeling discouraged because your first ad didn’t work, the community around you is either your greatest asset or your biggest frustration.

Legendary Marketer: The Corporate High-Ticket Vibe

Legendary Marketer is a massive machine. While their support is professional, it often feels very "corporate."

  • The "Gatekeeper" Mentors: Your main point of contact is often a "Business Advisor." As we discussed, these advisors are primarily salespeople. If you aren't ready to drop $2,500 on a Blueprint, many users report being "ghosted" or left to figure things out on their own.
  • The Ticket System: Questions are handled through standard support tickets. You’re a number in a database, and you’re waiting on a help desk to get back to you.
  • The Competitive Culture: Because LM is built on high-ticket ranks, the community can sometimes feel competitive. There is a clear hierarchy between the "all-in" big earners and the beginners just trying to make their first $7.

HBA: "Drinking Sunshine from a Cup"

The HBA community is famous for being the most supportive community in the industry. They actually have a nickname for their culture: "Drinking sunshine from a cup."

  • Direct Founder Access: Imagine having a question and getting an answer directly from the founders (Paul and Mike) on a live call. They show up 5 days a week for their members. You aren't just a number; you’re part of the "Pack."
  • "No-One-Left-Behind" Philosophy: In the HBA, there is no hierarchy. Whether you’re a top producer or you’re still trying to build your first landing page, you get the same level of encouragement.
  • The "Peace of Mind" Community: The private Telegram and Facebook groups are active and incredibly helpful. If you’re stuck, a fellow member or a founder usually jumps in within minutes to help you out. It’s a culture of contribution, not just competition.

The Verdict:

You don’t want a "Business Advisor" who only talks to you when there’s a commission on the line. You want a team that will help you because they genuinely want you to succeed.

Legendary Marketer provides a sleek, corporate education, but it can feel lonely at the bottom. The HBA provides a family. If you value a community that is honest, ethical, and actually has your back, the choice is clear.

Becca’s Pro Tip: I also love the HBA's daily and weekly mastermind calls and meetings. It’s real-time training from people actually in the trenches, which is a far cry from the "pre-recorded" feel of many high-ticket programs.

Conclusion: Which "Ship" Are You Boarding?

In the world of affiliate marketing, everyone is trying to sell you a "Blueprint" or a "Secret." But after stripping away the hype and looking at the math, the tech, and the community, the choice between Legendary Marketer and the Home Business Academy comes down to your personal "Survival Strategy."

Legendary Marketer is the flashy, high-ticket cruise ship. It looks impressive from the outside, but once you're on board, you might find yourself constantly pressured to upgrade to a more expensive cabin just to stay in the game. It’s built for those who have a large budget, a high risk tolerance, and the stomach for high-pressure sales.

The Home Business Academy is the sturdy, reliable rescue boat. It isn't trying to impress you with "Diamond Ranks" or $2,500 upgrades. It’s a community-led fortress designed to get the you into profit as fast as possible. With its 80% commission, lifetime tracking, and "People-First" culture, it’s the only program I’ve seen that actually puts the person at the kitchen table before the person on the stage.

The Verdict

If you are tired of the "Recruit and Drain" cycle—if you’re done chasing $7 leads only to be upsold for thousands—then it’s time to change the land where you're building.

Don't build your house on the shifting sands of 90-day cookies and high-ticket hype. Build your fortress on the solid ground of residual income and a community that actually has your back.

Take the "People-First" Path

Ready to stop running on the high-ticket treadmill and start building something that lasts?

I’ve partnered with the founders of the HBA to help you get started with the exact same tools and training I use every day. You can see the full plan, check out the 80% commission math for yourself, and join a community that actually wants you to win.
